XLPower Specter 700 V2 NME KIT
The Specter 700 V2 NME (Nick Maxwell Edition) is a special version of the top class 700 flybarless helicopter, bringing a number of unique improvements over the original Specter 700 V2 model. Modifications include reinforced 7075 high-strength duralumin bearing and balancing rotor heads, 1:1 geometry of the cyclic to the rotor head for ease of adjustment and improved cyclic control, tapered shaft and balancing rotor hub for improved symmetry and balance, quick-release yaw rod end that does not require the use of glue, reinforced chassis, and a unique cabin in yellow-blue-silver "NME" style. All changes were led by the effort to increase the performance of the initial model and to facilitate the operation and adjustment of the helicopter.
The Specter 700 V2 NME allows for the installation of a wide range of motors and electronics, so straight out of the box or with the use of tuning parts, it easily meets the requirements of seasoned 3D pilots and allows the use of their most popular and well-tested equipment.
The Specter 700 V2 introduces a new 10m lower rotor head made from high-strength aircraft duralumin 7075, improving vertical weight distribution and allowing better mass concentration closer to the center of gravity in the center of the airframe. The compact nature of the head helps deliver even more liveliness for pilots who want a model with amazing steering response. Even with these modifications, the head still uses double-row ball bearings with diagonal contact ensuring a very long service life.
The tail beam consists of a rigid carbon tube with a diameter of 32 mm, requiring no additional struts and ensuring precise control of the tail. The leveling rotor control rod is located on the upper side of the tail spar, which, together with the yaw servo storage "together" with the cyclic servos, helps to concentrate the mass of the helicopter as close to the center of gravity as possible. The balancing rotor is driven by an 8 mm wide toothed belt, which guarantees a long service life.
Compared to older versions of the Specter 700, the diameter of the permanent balance rotor drive gear (100 teeth) and the tail pulley (20-21 teeth) has been increased, which increases the bending radius of the toothed belt, reducing its friction and increasing its life. The carbon vertical stabilizer is extremely light for maximum weight reduction and the associated tail inertia.
The helicopter frame consists of carbon sidewalls, composite and duralumin crossbars. It allows the drive battery to be inserted from the rear, so it can be replaced without having to remove the cabin first. The bed for the flybarless control unit is located in the front of the model, which makes it easier to connect the on-board electronics and reduces the vibrations transmitted to the gyro.
The landing gear is now wider and lower for more stability when taking off and landing with robust 15mm legs - these can be swapped out for tuning 18mm if you need something near indestructible.
