Spektrum Smart batteries respond to modern trends. Smart batteries include integrated electronics that ensure safe and, above all, easy operation. The built-in electronics continuously monitor the voltage of individual cells and the overall battery temperature, and optimize the charge of each cell to achieve the shortest possible charging time.
Thanks to the ability to automatically discharge to storage voltage, battery lifespan is significantly extended.

When a Smart LiPo battery is connected to a Smart charger, the charger reads all necessary parameters (battery type, number of cells, capacity, charging current) directly from the battery. Charging has never been this easy!
New IC3 and IC5 connectors
The new IC3 and IC5 connectors feature a modern design focused on safety and simplicity. The connectors are gold-plated (3.5 mm diameter for IC3, 5 mm for IC5). The connector also includes a data wire for communication with the charger. When using Smart chargers, there is no need to connect a balance lead. IC3 / IC5 connectors are backward compatible with EC3 / EC5 connectors.
As mentioned, the connectors are designed with an emphasis on safe and simple use. They cannot be connected incorrectly, and the contacts and soldered connections are protected by a plastic housing.
To allow charging with standard chargers, the battery is equipped with a standard JST-XH balance connector.
Automatic storage mode activation
Long-term storage of a fully charged battery degrades its properties, which can manifest as swelling or softening. Therefore, Spektrum Smart batteries include a circuit that, after a preset time, slowly discharges the battery to the so-called storage voltage. The time can be set using a charger in the range of 12 to 240 hours.
This unique feature significantly extends battery lifespan and ensures better performance throughout the entire life of the pack.
